Built Construction Group was established in 2014 when Matthew Pankhurst, a qualified carpenter and licensed building practitioner with a diploma in building and construction management took the next step to progress his career in construction, which started back in 2002 as an apprentice carpenter in Wellington.
Today, a dedicated team of full time staff are committed to delivering numerous projects at any one time specialising in residential renovations, residential new builds, residential developments, shopfitting, seismic upgrades and commercial developments.

Matthew Pankhurst
Managing Director
Matthew has been building in Wellington for nearly 25 years and brings a deep, practical understanding of construction. He is a Qualified New Zealand Carpenter and holds a current Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) license in Carpentry, Site 1, Site 2, and Site 3, allowing him to confidently manage both residential and commercial construction. With extensive experience and fluency in construction processes, Matthew is equipped to lead teams, navigate complex builds, and ensure the highest standards are maintained on every job.
With an easy going attitude, and general positive outlook on life. Projects become easy for all parties involved.
Darin Beveridge
Site Manager / Lead Carpenter
Darin has worked alongside Matthew, the Managing Director, since the early 2000s and has been an integral part of many successful building projects over the years. With extensive hands-on experience across all aspects of construction, Darin brings a wealth of practical knowledge and craftsmanship to every project he is involved in.
Having contributed to a wide range of residential and commercial builds, Darin is known for his reliable work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to consistently deliver high-quality results. His experience and understanding of the construction process make him a valuable member of the team both on-site and during project delivery.
With a positive outlook and an approachable nature, Darin creates an enjoyable and productive atmosphere on site. His friendly personality and team-focused attitude make him someone that clients, subcontractors, and colleagues enjoy working alongside.
Eiran Tobin
Lead Carpenter / Site Manager
Eiran has worked alongside Matthew for many years as a Lead Carpenter and Site Manager, building a wealth of experience across a wide range of construction projects. With extensive knowledge of Wellington renovations and new builds, Eiran has developed a strong understanding of the unique challenges and requirements involved in delivering high-quality construction outcomes.
Through years of hands-on experience, Eiran has played a key role in managing site operations, coordinating trades, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. His practical expertise and leadership make him a trusted figure on every project.

Lead Carpenter

Glen Oaksey
Project Co-ordinator
Glen has been working in project co-ordination for over 10 years and brings extensive experience in administration, programming, and project delivery. With a strong focus on organisation and communication, Glen plays a key role in keeping projects running smoothly from planning through to completion.
His practical approach, attention to detail, and technical expertise allow him to effectively support both clients and project teams, ensuring that deadlines are met and expectations are exceeded.

Project Co-ordinator
Dan brings extensive experience in hospitality and commercial bar fit-outs, having worked across both New Zealand and Australia. Jamie Docherty
Administration / Programming
