Aotea High-end Residential New Build
From 2019 to 2021, Built Construction Group constructed a 418m2 high spec three-bedroom home for Graeme & Linda McInteer at 5 Eglinton Close, Aotea, Porirua City. The structure was positioned to take advantage of the amazing vista over Porirua Harbour and Mana Island, creating a great space for entertaining family and friends.
Design elements included pre-cast concrete walls, exposed concrete floors, stained ply ceilings and cedar feature screens and cladding.
The project involved marking out the proposed structure, and preparing, pouring, and installing foundation slabs for the pre-cast panels to attach to before pouring the exposed concrete floors. We installed the roof framing and roofing, the underfloor heating, the reinforcing to the slabs, and windows. We constructed the interior walls, installed the ply ceilings, fitted off the kitchens and bathrooms, installed floor coverings, and added all timber finishings.
Covid-19 meant there were labour shortages, which delayed progress. But it was important to manage quality control, which we did consistently, ensuring that skilled builders were assigned to the project throughout. We completed the project in 2021.

The build was completed to a very high standard, and we’re extremely proud of the end result. This project will be entered into the Master Builders House of the Year competition. We thoroughly enjoyed working with such great clients.
